JL Custom Fab was established in Bowdoin, Maine during the Spring of 2005 by Jay and Sara Lacharite.

Jay  originally was employed by Coastal Metal Fab in Topsham. Beginning as a production worker, Jay spent the next 9 years perfecting his welding abilities, gaining customer service skills and eventually became a Service Manager, in charge of installations and custom welding jobs.

Always dreaming of owning his own business, Jay began the ground work on Route 201 before the snow was even melted. He spent the summer constructing the shop with the help of friends and family. By November 2005, JL Custom Fab was officially open for business.

JL Custom Fab strives to provide services that are hard to find in the area. With the ability to weld all types of metals, we can repair or build just about anything the customer desires.
